This omnibus edition brings together Phillip Keller's three devotional classics, A Shepherd Looks and the 23rd Psalm, A Shepherd Looks at the Good Shepherd, and A Shepherd Looks at the Lamb of God. As a shepherd, Phillip Keller knew what it was to protect a vulnerable flock on a daily basis. The special skills of a shepherd demanded compassion, care, and guidance. His practical experience provides a wellspring of profound spiritual insight, reflected in these timeless meditations on the most famous psalm of all, on the relationship between the Good Shepherd and his sheep, and on the sacrificial role of Christ the Lamb of God. W. Phillip Keller, born in East Africa, always loved wildlife and the outdoors. Having spent many years in agriculture research, land management, and ranch development in British Columbia, he later pursued careers in conservation, wildlife photography, and journalism. His experiences as a shepherd equipped him with the insights that are the basis for A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23.

This book is the best description of Psalm 23 I have ever read This book is the best description of Psalm 23 I have ever read. The author has truly been touched by the Holy Spirit to make such revelations of a Psalm we most times take it for granted and recite it without even a second thought. The thoughts of this book should make us pause and meditate on what God is truly saying to us as individuals. I am now devouring more of Keller's books. They are excellent.Well written, good tool for Bible studies We've used this as a good tool in our Sunday School / Bible Study groups for a few yrs now and each book in this trilogy provides great material for better understanding both David's perspective with his writings & his relationship with the Lord as well as something of Christ's role. I highly recommend it.It Touches the Heart I have only read the first part and am using it with a Bible study group. The ladies agree, it touches the heart. My own experience with sheep also helps me understand even more what he is saying. One woman said, "Sheep aren't totally stupid. They recognize the voice of their master!"While I'm focusing on just the first part right now, I am eager to see what else Keller has to say.
